POS Station Setup Checklist

Thin Client or Terminal Setup

Cash Receipt Printer

Preferred cash receipt printer settings

  • Cuts paper
  • Feeds specified length
  • Pops cash drawer open (if attached)

Epson to MMF Cash Drawer Cable Notes

  • Connect side that says 'To Epson Printer Drawer #1' directly to cash drawer
  • Connect side that says the MMF P/N to the printer

Printing through a Bos Thin Client

  • HPT MUST be set to on
  • Set HPT printer selection to *EPDFX5000 (under advanced options on a Bos Thin Client)

Cash Drawer Setup

  • MMF is currently the most common

Working cash drawer

  • The drawer pops open when cash receipts process

Non-working cash drawer = The drawer does not pop open

  • Check cable from printer to cash drawer
  • Check IBS setup (MOST LIKELY HEX CODES ARE NOT SET IN MU 6 Page 6)
  • Check terminal settings
