Preferred Laser Settings

file --> page setup -->

• Drawer-1 Orientation portrait
• Drawer-2 Orientation portrait

communication --> configure

• Font for iSeries print file modern
• Transform print data to ASCII on iSeries
  • check only when using HPLJ II or earlier, IBM, Lexmark Optra or select Epson laser printers
  • if checked select the specific printer model
  • if blank pages or scribbled data prints uncheck Transform print box

file --> save

Code page Setup

Most newer laser and inkjet printers require different code page setups from the current standards. Because all printers are different use this guide as a general reference.

• Open your printer session
• When the screen says READY and ONLINE click on file
• Next click on page setup
• Click on advanced options
• Change the printer code page to "1252"
• Click on ok
• Click on file
• Click on save

This will generally handle most Laser & Inkjet printer setups

Please note that if you did not purchase your printer from IBS we will assist you ONLY in setting up the workstation print session. You are 100% responsible for any configuration settings after initial setup.
