First remove any pages that have been printed.
- Remove any forms that have been printed.
- Press the Unload button. The panel should now say Press
Start. If not, remove all paper and clip an unused roll of continuous forms
into the tractor.
- Press Start/Stop.
- When the panel is displaying Ready,
press Start/Stop
again.
- Using the Micro Up and Micro Down buttons, position
the
top edge of the first form to be even with the sharp edge of the grey dust
cover.
- Press the Start/Stop button again to save the new
tear-off position.
NOTE:
Form length and top-of-form can also affect the tear-off
position.

If the problem continues, check the form length or paper size settings in
the application or print queue. Each press of the Micro button equals one
72nd of an inch on the 4227 printers.

Setting tear off position on a 2480/2481 Lexmark Printer
Before starting you must verify that the Top of Form is set. If the top
of form isn't setup correctly the tear off position can't be set.
- Press
Start/Stop to take the printer offline.
- The ready light will goes out.
- If the light doesn't go out it may be locked.
Contact IBS for unlocking instructions.
- Press and hold Tear Off
until the printer beeps.
- Open the operator panel cover.
- Press Micro Up or Micro Down to move the paper to the
correct position on the tear off bar.
- Close the operator panel.
- The printer beeps twice.
- The paper will then roll backward, then go to the new
Tear Off position.
- The Ready light is On.
- Press Start/Stop.
Set Auto Tear-Off on a 238x Printer
Instructions
- Press Alt + Tear Off
- Press Micro Up/Down to move the paper
- Press Start/Stop
The printer sounds 2 beeps. The paper rolls
backwards, then goes to the new tear-off position.
