Common Commands

• strsbs - start a subsystem
• wrksbs - work with subsystems

Most common subsystem commands

• strsbs qinter

  This command starts subsystem qinter which controls all workstations outside the console.

  If workstations outside console still don't start you my also need to do the following commands (1) strtcp, (2) strhostsvr *all

Typical Subsystems

Most commonly used subsystems marked in green

• FAXCOM
  • This controls your fax server (if installed)
• QBATCH
  • This is where all reports process.
  • If there is a message it is normally displayed under qbatch.
• QCMN
  • This is your communications subsystem
• QCTL
  • This is a dedicated subsystem for your console
• QHTTPSVR
  • This is where your apache server runs (if installed)
• QINTER
  • This is where all PCs and Terminals except for 'W1' your console run
• QINTER02
  • This is a subsystem sometimes created by IBS to provide additional network access
• QPGMR
  • This is a programming subsystem not normally used
• QSERVER
  • This subsystem is not normally used by IBS
• QSPL
  • This subsystem controls your spool files once they are created
• QSYSWRK
  • This subsystem is not normally used by IBS
• QUSRWRK
  • This subsystem is not normally used by IBS
