Keys to pricing and costing by lineal foot

☐ Cost conversion is determined by the factor you put into MBF/MSF to each field
➥ if you receive by the lineal foot you MUST put a conversion factor into the MBF/MSF to each field and the cost code = 5

☐ Price conversion is determined by the factor you put into Bulk Sku Cost field
➥ if you price by the each the bulk sku cost field can be empty and the price code = 1
➥ if you price by the lineal foot you MUST put a conversion factor into the Bulk Sku Cost field and the price code = 5

Figure 3 shows a sku setup without any cost or pricing conversion factor. The system will not calculate the conversion unless the factor is available! This product cannot be sold or purchased by the lineal foot.

Figure 4 shows a sku setup with a cost and pricing conversion factor of 24. This sku could be both sold and received by the lineal foot.


The key is to use a conversion factor if you are pricing and/or costing by lineal foot!

Following are 2 sku examples from a lumberyard using both lineal foot pricing and costing correctly
