☞ This section gives you a quick path to follow when installing DOS with
Extended Memory (i.e. 1Mb or more RAM Memory) Client Access/400 Version 3 on
your PC.
☞ Minimum PC System Requirements Include the following:
☛ PC with a 286 or higher microprocessor.
☛ Minimum 1Mb RAM Memory (i.e. 640k Conventional + 384k Extended Memory)
☛ Minimum 1.3Mb Hard Disk Space available
☛ Dos 5.0 or later
☛ Microsoft Windows 3.0 or later if you are also going to use RUMBA/400.
☛ An IBM Compatible emulation card with a twin-ax connector
☛ IBM Client Access for Dos diskettes
* If you do not meet ALL of these requirements you cannot run Client Access for
DOS. Please Contact IBS Lumber Software Inc (800) 200-8244 for other options.
☞ This procedure allows you to install Client Access/400 on a personal computer
running DOS with extended memory.
* If during installation you have a question press the F1 (Cmd1) key to see
IBM's online help information.
1. Insert the first installation diskette in the disk drive.
2. From a C:\> prompt key A:\INSTALL the press the ENTER key.
3. Press ENTER when the IBM logo appears.
4. Enter the required information on the Client Access/400 Installation display.
Use the default value of YES for the Accept default configuration parameter. You
can change configuration information after you have installed Client Access/400.
5. On the Client Access/400 Installation (PC to AS/400 Connection) display,
enter TWINAX for connection type.
6. Follow the installation instruction as they are presented on the display.
7. When the Client Access/400 installation completion display appears, read all
of the messages. Follow the instructions for restarting the personal computer
and starting Client Access/400.
Installing Client Access/400 for Dos with Microsoft Windows
☞ To install Client Access/400 with Microsoft Windows:
1. Key WIN from your C:\> prompt then press the ENTER key.
☛ If your PC already normally directly boots into Windows ignore this step.
2. Start the Windows Program Manager if it is not already available.
3. Insert the first Client Access/400 installation diskette in the diskette
drive.
4. Select RUN from the Program Manager's file menu.
5. Key A:\INSTALL in the Command line box, then click on OK.
6. Click on ENTER when the IBM logo appears.
7. Enter the required information on the Client Access/400 Installation display.
Use the default value of YES for the Accept default configuration parameter. You
can change configuration information after you have installed Client Access/400.
8. Enter the Connection type as TWIN-AX.
9. Follow the installation instructions as they are presented on the display.
10. When the Client Access/400 installation completion display appears, read all
of the messages. Follow the instructions for restarting the personal computer
and starting Client Access/400.

introduction that describes the different parts of the Client Access/400
Program.
✎ Key: I:\QIWSFL2\PCSMENU then press the ENTER key. Next, select View Client
Access Introduction.
Please note that IBS
no longer supports versions of Client Access below v4r1
- This keyboard layout is for use with Client Access / Rumba on CISC v3r2
or lower machines.
- Please note that V3R2 is the last AS400 Software version for any CISC
system. Software support was dropped by IBM on this product. All
versions prior to V3R2 are Y2K non-compliant!
- The following keys are normally preset:

☛ Prt Screen(Sys Rq) PRINT Screen (note after depressing this key you must
press the AS/400 reset key to return to your previous application).

☛ Right Ctrl key ENTER
