- The IBM 7857 19.2 Kbps, V.32 bis
Modem, with LPDA-2 configuration setup, represents the next generation of
high-speed dial stand-alone modem technology. This technology places the new
modem among the highest speed dial-up/leased-line modems currently available
on the market. The 7857 modem operates over 2-wire dial-up and 2-wire or
4-wire leased analog circuits. It provides extended data rates up to 19.2
Kbps (Kilobits per second) in full duplex and clear asynchronous
environments. It communicates with CCITT V.32 bis, CCITT V.32, CCITT V.22
bis, and CCITT V.22 (at 1.2 Kbps) modems. The IBM 7857 19.2 Kbps, V.32 bis
Modem provides a cost-effective means to transfer data at high speeds over
switched or leased analog circuits.
