Network setup & Administration

  • Most common IP network addresses
    • 192.168.1.1
    • 192.168.2.1
    • 10.0.0.1
  • Most common passwords
    username: [leave blank]
    password: Admin [or] admin
  • Most common Motorola passwords
    username: Admin
    password: Motorola

Firewall ports that must be unlocked

  • Client Access - unlock ports 446-449, 8470-8480 (*Bosanova tcp also requires use of port 449)
  • Telnet - unlock port 23
  • FTP - unlock port 21

Westell Router Notes

Westell use nat port forwarding.  Configure the router as you normally would but instead of a DMZ use Configuration > NAT

Use custom configuration to forward the following ports

  • FTP 21 to 21
  • Telnet 23 to 23
  • Client Access (1of2) 446-449 to same,
  • Client Access (2of2) 8470-8480 to same

Wireless

  • Encryption
    • WEP or WPA/WSK
      Please note WPA/WSK is a newer encryption that doesn't always work with older wireless notebooks or devices!
  • Access key - nnnnnnnnnn (10 digits alphanumeric)
