Downloading Reports via FTP

Example 1

Create the holding file

• CRTPF FILE(IBSFTP/SPOOLFILES) RCDLEN(132) TEXT('PF to hold spooled file output') MAXMBRS(*NOMAX)
  
  

Find the spool file

• wrksplf *all
• Look for the spool file you want to transfer.  Option 5 (Display) will display the spool file(s).
• You will need the following information from the spool file. Press F11 to see additional detail on the spool files.
  • Spool file name
  • Job name
  • User
  • Number associated with file
    

  Copy the spool file into the ftp file

• type cpysplf then press F4
• Fill in the required fields
  
  
  Spooled file - enter the name of the spool file you want to copy
  To data base file - enter the name of the ftp you want to copy into
  Library - enter the name of the library that the ftp file is in
  Job name - enter the job name of the spool file
  User - enter the user that created the spool file
  Number - enter the system assigned number associated with the spool file

Transfer the ftp file to your PC

• Open up your dos prompt (or appropriate ftp program)
  the dos prompt is usually in Start-->All Programs-->Accesories
