D6xx

All D6 codes relate to powering down the system. 

  • The actual power down may take an extended period of time if there are problems with the system cache.  The extended shut-down time is normal for an abnormal system event.

IPL SRC finder

SRC What it means
D1xx xxxx Check for a specific D1xx SRC below. If you do not see your SRC below, then the SRC is reporting IPL status. This is a normal indication while the system main storage is being saved to disk. See the IPL SRC finder for details.

If the system is still not running correctly after 30 minutes, contact your hardware service provider.

D1xx 3xxx Service Processor Main Storage Dump status reference code. This is a normal reference code showing the status of the system when performing a main storage dump.

You may suspect that the system is not operating correctly when the rightmost characters do not change for 2 minutes.

Note:
It takes approximately 1 minute to dump each 20MB of main storage.
D100 80xx Operations Console error. See Troubleshoot system reference code (SRC) data for Operations Console.
D2xx xxxx These SRCs show the Status of an IPL. This is a normal indication while the panel functions and system code are powering down the system. See the IPL SRC finder for details, then perform Recover from IPL or system failures.
D6xx xxxx These SRCs show the Status of an IPL. This is a normal indication while the system is being powered down. See the IPL SRC finder for details.

If the system does not start normally after 30 minutes, call your software service representative. When xxxx is changing, the system is doing a main storage dump.

D9xx xxxx These SRCs show the Status of an IPL. See the IPL SRC finder for details, then perform Recover from IPL or system failures.
DAxx xxxx These SRCs show the Status of an IPL. See the IPL SRC finder for details, then perform Recover from IPL or system failures.

D6xx 5500 System shut-down status; attempting to delete information from the disk subsystem cache
D6xx 5501 System shut-down status; indicates that the information from the disk subsystem cache was deleted successfully
D6xx 5502 System shut-down status; indicates that the system failed to delete information from the disk subsystem cache
D6xx 5503 System shut-down status; indicates the information from the disk subsystem cache was deleted with qualified success
