special order purchase only.
☛ Computer Labs Emulation Card (ISA) (Use with Dos, Windows 3.1 or 3.11) for PC
to AS/400 Communications. Please note that these cards are no longer supported
by IBS Lumber Software Inc as of June 1999.
☞ The Bos Plus Twinax adapter card is capable of using any two of the seven
available addresses on the Twinax port to which it is connected.
How to Install a BOSâNova 6401 Emulation Card
1. Turn off you PC and unplug the power cord.
2. Remove the cover of a free expansion slot. Set aside the screw to secure the
card in Step 5.
3. Remove the adapter card from the packaging. Be careful not to touch the
electronic components or the edge connector.

4. Set the DIP switches on the card to the I/O address you wish to use (the
default factory setting is 2710)
☞ 1 = ON (Up) 0 = OFF (Down)
* If the factory default setting conflicts with your PC's sound or fax/modem
card try switching the default settings to 250X.
5. Slide the card carefully into the free expansion slot. Push the card gently
but firmly until it connects with the motherboard. Secure it in place with the
screw.
6. Unwrap the T-connector and plug it into the 15-pin D-type connector on the
card. connect the Twinax cable to the T-connector.
7. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the PC.
8. Install the IBM PC Support /400 Software
BOSâNova 5400 Emulation Cards
Native Plus (Level 1) and Native Basic (Level 0)
☞ The Native Basic Twinax adapter card is capable of using any two of the seven
available addresses on the Twinax port to which it is connected.
☞ Native Plus is capable of using any four!
How to Install a BOSâNova 5400 Emulation Card
1. Turn off you PC and unplug the power cord.
2. Remove the cover of a free expansion slot. Set aside the screw to secure the
card in Step 5.
3. Remove the adapter card from the packaging. Be careful not to touch the
electronic components or the edge connector.

*If you are using a Bos PCI Native Plus 5460 Adaptor card you do not need to set
any jumpers.

card. connect the Twinax cable to the T-connector.
*When unscrewing the T-connector from the be careful not to remove the small
Adaptor Card screws.
7. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the PC.
8. Install the Bosanova 2660 Desktop software.
Bosanova Connection & Card Failures
Cause of Failure Recovery
Card not seated properly in PCI/ISA slot. Reinsert card and fasten down with
screw.
Card settings not set properly. Check jumper settings (ISA Cards Only).
Card not recognized by Bosanova Software Check jumper settings (ISA Cards Only).
Also, check card type and level (i.e. Level 5,1, etc.)
Connection failure with following message: “Security failure for device” Check
Licenced programs and if Client Access is not installed you must create Q PC
Support. Type WRKMODD *ALL. Do a 3 to copy from one into QPCSUPP. Use the
following settings: Class of Service #Connect, Maximum Sessions 64, Maximum
Conversation 64, Locally Controlled Sessions 0, Pre-established Sessions 0, then
press ENTER.
This message occurs only when Client Access is not installed.
System does not connect or create sessions. Check WRKSYSVAL QAUTOCFG, (1=Yes),
QAUTOVRT (1=Yes).
System does not accept user. Check GO PCSTSK. Is user enrolled in Client Access?
If yes, is user profile *DISABLED?
System Serial error message(s). Display network address to verify System Serial
Number, DSPNETA.
Twinax adapter not found at I/O Address Check the I/O address defined in Setup.
PC System locks up as soon as Bosanova is activated or when you attempt to
either print or use the Fax/Modem. Check to insure that no IRQ’s are set in
Bosanova setup. IRQ conflicts cause immediate PC lockups.
